Photoshelter: Simplifying my Cloud
Langhorne Slim Q1 2010 Favorites – Images by Will Godfrey
Being a self-described technologist, I pride myself on efficient utilization of technology and Photoshelter just plain makes my life easier! Photoshelter is the hub of my image archive and it has simplified my workflow in every respect. I shoot primarily music and Photoshelter allows me to easily send images to bands or managers or clients. They host them all. In fact, all of the images in this post are hosted in my Photoshelter Archive. Read More
Crazy Cardinal in Concord
Over the weekend, I spent some time at Justin Glanville’s place in Concord, N.C. where I was awoken each morning by the insane Cardinal pictured above. This bird, which we all agree has lost it, attacks this very window many times per day starting when the sun comes up. According to Justin, this has been going on for the past year and has steadily increased the number of window attacks per day. At this point in time, between 8am and noon, the Cardinal ran into the window at least 50 times. We hypothesized that there is a reflection on the outside of the window that this male Cardinal thinks is another male Cardinal and this causes him to go crazy on the window. Let’s hope.
While I was there, despite the Crazy Cardinal induced sleep deprivation, Justin and I began to lay the ground for Live And Breathing. Live And Breathing is a joint venture between audio engineer, Justin Glanville, and music photographer, Will Godfrey, where we plan to leverage our skills to bring real and non digitally enhanced recordings back to the mainstream.
Coming up this week, Justin and I are heading to New York City for the beginning of Live And Breathing recording career. Justin is going out on tour with Langhorne Slim to record a new live album and I will be photographing the first three shows. I can’t wait since I have never been the NYC before!
My new life :)
In the past two weeks, my life has dramatically changed in a great way! I finished my last full semester in college (I am taking one final class this Spring to finish my degree), moved out of Milledgeville and into my Dad’s house, started my corporation, and got a ‘real’ job.
The name of my new corporation is WG International, Inc. This is the company I will be running my photo business through as well as any other business ventures I decide to pursue (which will be many). Through this company, I will be working for The Decisive Moment and The Orange Block.
The Decisive Moment is a Wedding Photography company that I have recently started working for. All of my weddings will now go through them. So if you or any of your friends are in the market for a wedding photographer, be sure the check me out there!
The Orange Block is an Education Marketing photography company based in Atlanta, Ga. I have assisted for these guys on a bunch of edu shoots and have had a blast, now I get do it on my own. This should be a lot of fun. Again, if you know any schools that might need some photography be sure to send them this way!
ShootQ is innovative online photography studio management software and I have recently joined their team as the Customer Service Manager. This is an amazing opportunity for me to develop my business skills with some great business people and get a salary while I build my photo business. Be sure to go have a look at the website and see what you think. If any of you guys are photographers, you really should check out the site.
Long Time
To all of my faithful readers out there, I am sorry for not posting much recently!
I am in the process of starting my S-Corp for the coming tax year as well as finishing up my last full semester of college. Technically, I have one class left to graduate, but it will be taken elsewhere so that I can get my photo business moving in Atlanta!
Please don’t be discouraged as there should be exciting news posted over the next couple months describing where I am headed with my life.
