Young Patrons MODA Event with Ryan Gravel

Ryan Gravel talks about Catalyst Infrastructure

With the New Year comes new endeavors and friends. I have been a Young Patron member of the High Museum in Atlanta for a couple years now, but little was done to really create a great core group. Now, The High has hired a full-time person to run the Young Patrons program (and others) and now we we are going to have monthly socials to meet and mingle. Exciting!

In an effort to give back, I am gonna be taking some event photos for the Young Patrons now. My first event was at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) where Ryan Gravel spoke about Catalyst Infrastructure. In case you don’t know (because I didn’t until Ryan was introduced), Ryan Gravel is the person whose graduate thesis written in 1999 at Georgia Tech is being fully realized as the Beltline Project in Atlanta. Pretty cool.

Ryan’s talk spanned multiple continents about how more projects like to Beltline are starting to crop up. He sees these kinds of projects as a “Catalyst” to change a community for the better. At present, Ryan is working very hard one of these exact projects to help turn Detroit around. Good Luck Ryan! It looks like a great project!
